Publicity Club of Chicago Honors A Safe Haven Foundation with Third Silver Trumpet Award
Award Amplifies the Message of Empowering the Homeless
May 31, 2013, Chicago, IL— The Publicity Club of Chicago recognized A Safe Haven Foundation for the third time with a Silver Trumpet Award, at their Annual Golden Trumpet Awards Event held at the Palmer House in Chicago. The PCC Trumpet awards are one of the most prestigious honors in the public relations and marketing industries. Neli Vazquez-Rowland, president and co-founder of A Safe Haven Foundation, received the award on behalf of the organization for its Aspire. Transform. Sustain.™ Annual Report for the fiscal year of 2011-2012.
“This prestigious honor will go a long way in helping us amplify our message and our mission to help thousands more end their challenges with poverty and homelessness in the future,” says Vazquez-Rowland, “We are so proud and grateful.”
The event brought together the top communication professionals from around the world and honored their achievements in Public Relations and Communications. Entrepreneur, businesswoman and philanthropist Christine Hefner served as the evening’s keynote speaker.
The Silver Trumpet Award raised awareness of A Safe Haven’s mission and the issue of the growing number of homeless individuals, especially veterans, in America.
“It is for all of the people who are still homeless and on the streets in America,” says Foltz. “It is for the veterans who came home to nothing after the economy fell…. and for the domestically battered mother of 5 who had no where to go in the middle of the night.”
Chris Foltz, A Safe Haven associate board president, nominated A Safe Haven Foundation for the Non profit Annual Report category. His team at Christopher Foltz Collaborative worked closely with the A Safe Haven team to design an impactful Annual Report that highlighted data, performance metrics, community impact and also featured real and inspiring success stories of people and families who benefited from A Safe Haven’s innovative social business enterprise model.
