Community Fun Fair

On August 9th, 2024, A Safe Haven Foundation hosted its 2nd Annual Community Fun Fair, a significant event that drew an enthusiastic crowd of over 150 guests, 36 volunteers, and 30 staff. The event, designed to provide a joyous atmosphere for children and families, many of whom are facing poverty or homelessness, was a resounding success. The sight of children playing without worry, surrounded by their loved ones, perfectly encapsulated A Safe Haven’s goal of creating a day filled with fun, laughter, and community, and we can all be proud of the impact we made on these families.

We are deeply grateful to the elected officials who joined us in supporting this fantastic event – Congressman Danny Davis, State Senator Lakesia Collins, Representative Yolanda Morris, and Representative La Shawn K. Ford

We also extend our sincere appreciation to our event sponsors: HPS Investment Partners LLC, Evertree Insurance LLC, RGE Engineering, Ozinga, Rags of Honor, Axis Capital, Wintrust Bank, and Terra Engineering. Their attendance and contributions were invaluable, and we are deeply grateful for your support, which made this event a huge success.

A big thank you to our community partners who were actively engaged and participated in the Fun Fair, helping to create a vibrant and inclusive atmosphere for all attendees. These partners included the Chicago Police Department 11th District, Lawndale Christian Development Corporation, Sinai Community Institute, Harold Washington College, Wintrust Bank, Humboldt Park Health Foundation, Alliance Care 360, Phoenix House, The Encompassing Center, and Building Brighter Futures. Their presence and involvement were instrumental in making this event a true celebration of our community.

Thanks to everyone who made this a fantastic and fun day! Your presence and support were integral to the success of the event. We encourage you to visit the event photo gallery to see all the smiling faces and relive the wonderful moments we shared.
