Community Fun Fair

On August 9th, 2024, A Safe Haven Foundation hosted its 2^nd Annual Community Fun Fair, a significant event that drew an enthusiastic crowd of over 150 guests, 36 volunteers, and 30 staff. The event, designed to provide a joyous atmosphere for children and families, many of whom are facing poverty or homelessness, was a resounding success. The sight of children playing without worry, surrounded by their loved ones, perfectly encapsulated A Safe Haven’s goal of creating a day filled with fun, laughter, and community, and we can all be proud of the impact we made on these families.

We are deeply grateful to the elected officials who joined us in supporting this fantastic event – Congressman Danny Davis, State Senator Lakesia Collins, Representative Yolanda Morris, and Representative La Shawn K. Ford.

A big thank you to our community partners who were actively engaged and participated in the Fun Fair, helping to create a vibrant and inclusive atmosphere for all attendees. These partners included the Chicago Police Department 11th District, Lawndale Christian Development Corporation, Sinai Community Institute, Harold Washington College, Wintrust Bank, Humboldt Park Health Foundation, Alliance Care 360, Phoenix House, The Encompassing Center, and Building Brighter Futures. Their presence and involvement were instrumental in making this event a true celebration of our community.
