A Safe Haven Foundation President Neli Vazquez Rowland Serves as Keynote Speaker At Annual Harvard Graduate Council Leadership Conference
“Leadership In A Time of Crisis”
Cambridge, MA, April 8, 2016 –On Friday April 8th A Safe Haven Foundation President Neli Vazquez Rowland spoke at the annual Harvard Graduate Council Leadership Conference. The central theme of the event and panel discussions that followed was “Leadership in a Time of Crisis”. The other speakers included prominent distinguished professors, key experts and representatives from both the public and private sectors.
“It was an honor to once again have the opportunity to speak at Harvard University. The theme-Leadership in the Time of Crisis-is certainly relevant to A Safe Haven Foundation and all non-profit organizations in Illinois currently navigating the ongoing state budget crisis. On an organizational level- we must continue to focus our energy and efforts towards championing a proven and scalable model that has been sustainable through foreseen and unforeseen crises. According to the Harvard Graduate Council event page, the Annual HGC Leadership Conference allows for students from across all twelve Harvard Graduate Schools to engage with industry and thought leaders through case-studies, lively debates and active discussion around pertinent issues. Additionally, up-and-coming leaders have the opportunity to participate in order to learn, network and develop leadership abilities. The ultimate goal is to motivate and inspire all attendees to collaborate in order to tackle today’s most –pressing global issues.
