The 2024 Chicago Auto Show Help Drive Out Hunger & Homelessness in Chicagoland

 

Chicago, IL, February 16, 2024 – A Safe Haven Foundation is again honored to be the sole beneficiary of the 2024 Chicago Auto Show and Chicago’s Largest Canned Food Drive held February 14-16, 2024.

“At A Safe Haven, we express our gratitude to the sponsors of the Chicago Auto Show Food Drive, which includes the Chicago Auto Show, the new-car dealers of the Chicago Automobile Trade Association, Alan Josephsen Co. Inc, and all the car admirers and families who brought canned food donations to this year’s show. And, to the incredible support from our fantastic Bank of America volunteers, who helped organize and facilitate the drive. This collaborative generosity truly aids us in combating hunger among those in need. The canned goods are crucial in helping us supply groceries to our food-insecure neighbors in the North Lawndale community.” – Mark G. Mulroe, President.

From February 14 through February 16, individuals who brought three cans of food to the Chicago Auto Show received a coupon of $5 off a full-price adult ticket. Through the generosity of the Chicago Auto Show attendees, we collected six gaylord boxes filled to the top.

A Safe Haven’s Community Food Pantry distributes food to families from neighborhoods in the food desert surrounding the social enterprise’s main campus at 2750 West Roosevelt Road, just 5 miles from the Auto Show.
