John Marsh Wilhelm, 70, a long-time resident of Hinsdale, IL, and A Safe Haven Foundation Advisory Board Member passed away on September 14th, 2022.
John and Neli Vazquez Rowland, President and Co-Founder of A Safe Haven Foundation were good friends and met over 15 years ago
as members of Rotary One.
“John was one of the most compassionate and kindest human beings I have ever met. I was grateful to have him as a valued member of our advisory board. He provided excellent counsel in our efforts to help transform the lives of the least among us. He will be sorely missed by all who knew and shared many good times of fellowship, friendship and community service together both at Rotary One and at A Safe Haven. May he rest in peace.
His family is in our prayers during this difficult time. No doubt, he left a wonderful legacy in his family and in the lives he touched, including the lives of those he never met at A Safe Haven. His advocacy and contributions to the issues of addiction and homelessness have left a lasting impression and made a difference in the lives of others for generations to come. I am truly humbled and honored that his family has chosen A Safe Haven as the beneficiary of the donations that others may wish to make on his behalf” – Neli Vazquez Rowland, President and Co-Founder.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00pm Sunday, September 25th at Union Church, 137 S. Garfield St, Hinsdale, IL. In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to A Safe Haven Foundation.
