Junior Accountant

Summary:  This excellent entry level opportunity provides financial status information by preparing special reports; completing special projects, adjusting journal entries, calculating, posting, reviewing, and recording financial data and performing related duties as assigned or required.

Job Responsibilities

General Ledger

  • Review financial records and financial statements for the assigned portfolio
  • Prepare schedules for and Analyze financial information detailing assets, liabilities, profit and loss activity and capital
  • Prepare balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports to summarize and interpret current and projected company financial position
  • Identify and resolve problems and inconsistencies, determining appropriate corrective procedures
  • Assist in preparation of federal, state, and local reports and tax returns by collecting appropriate data
  • Prepare budgets for the for profit companies
  • Prepare quarterly and year-end financial statements for properties
  • Run and analyze reports using QuickBooks, Razor Edge, and Rent Manager
  • Prepare monthly accounting reports for department

Accounts Receivable

  • Maintain all billing, invoicing, and collections for pest control
  • Invoice contracts for expenses incurred and per diem contracts
  • Enter bank deposits using appropriate accounting software
  • Track and prepare donation acknowledgement letters

Accounts Payable

  • Process purchase orders
  • Assists in recording vendor invoices and credit card transactions
  • Performs additional duties as assigned or required

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university in Accounting or related field highly preferred.
  • 3+ years related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Computer Skills

In order to successfully perform the essential responsibilities of the job, one must possess the following computer and program skills: Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel; knowledge of accounting software, general ledger, payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable, e-mail, and internet
