After losing her mother and aging out of her grandfather’s home, Kayla faced homelessness with no clear path forward. Through A Safe Haven’s Culinary Arts Training Program, she earned her ServSafe certification, strengthened her skills, and rebuilt her confidence.
Today, Kayla manages a local food-service restaurant, lives independently in a two-bedroom apartment, and dreams of returning to A Safe Haven as a kitchen supervisor to give back.
