Housing As Healthcare: Our Philosophy
“I didn’t think I could ever stop using drugs and alcohol, but with A Safe Haven’s help, I have been clean and sober for over 15 months.” – R. G., former resident
A Safe Haven Foundation believes in recovery management. Individuals can renew and rebuild their lives provided that they have a home to live in as well as the time, resources, and personalized attention needed to recover. ASHF’s clients choose to be a part of our Continuum of Housing and Care because they want a chance to restore their lives. By actively facilitating their self-sufficiency and overseeing their recovery —initially working with a case manager to develop a treatment plan tailored the individual’s specific needs—clients come to value every small accomplishment. Every small accomplishment leads to the next until larger goals, such as re-entering the workforce or owning an apartment become a reality. Subsequently the person’s self-worth and value to themselves, their families, and their communities at large increase.
Our organization helps people invest in their own lives, creating meaning and purpose that compel them to sustain self sufficiency for a lifetime. Our "recovery management" philosophy focuses on the experiences, needs, and aspirations specific to the individual and their family.
