About The Event:
The Heroes and Hope Gala will be an inspirational and elegant fundraiser to celebrate A Safe Haven’s 23 years of impact in Chicago. The annual event helps us raise awareness and support, and connects us with those who share our vision to end homelessness and poverty in Chicago, our nation, and beyond. Take a look at last year’s Celestial Gala here!
The event will feature Rob Johnson, CBS 2 Chicago evening news anchor, as our Celebrity Emcee for the evening! Since joining CBS 2 Chicago in August of 2006 Rob has covered many major news events during his career including many of the Presidential Campaigns over the last 25 years. Rob has won multiple Emmy Awards and has received numerous awards from Associated Press, Chicago Headline Club and Belle Center of Chicago to name just a few. On September 22, 2011, Governor Pat Quinn proclaimed it ‘Rob Johnson Day” in Illinois, as recognition for his advocacy for people with disabilities.
We are honored to have Rob as emcee for our Heroes & Hope Gala this fall.
With Veterans day just seven days after the gala, A Safe Haven felt it was the perfect opportunity to celebrate not only the important work we do, but to honor the work our veterans do for our nation. The Gala will help A Safe Haven continue our mission by providing much needed funding for our various programs while giving us the opportunity to thank and honor the sacrifices our veterans have made, and continue to make, to ensure our freedom.
All proceeds from this event will benefit and improve the lives of homeless individuals and families residing at A Safe Haven Foundation, one of the nations leading nonprofit organizations and pioneers in the field of social business enterprise.
