The 2011 Champions for Recovery awards luncheon, hosted by ABC's Kathy Brock, will honor national leaders who advocate, act, and make a real impact for recovery from homelessness, addiction, and other crises. Honorees include Neil Guterman, Dean of the University of Chicago School of Social Service Administration, West Huddleston, CEO of the National Association of Drug Court Professionals, Joan Kennedy, well-known advocate for recovery, Susan Noyes, founder of Make It Better media, Dave Sloan, President of the Chicago Automobile Trade Association and General Manager of the Chicago Auto Show, and Gabriel's Last Breath, a rock group of military veterans. Join us as we celebrate the incredible achievements of our Champions for Recovery.

To End Homelessness
Participate in A Safe Haven's first annual RUN! To End Homelessness, a 5K Run/Walk, and a 400-Yard Dash for Kids, hosted by ABC's John Garcia at 8 a.m. Run/walk with your family, friends, or co-workers alongside senators, state representatives, aldermen and hundreds of others running and walking to end homelessness. Receive cool prizes--and win even more valuable ones--and enjoy live music from hip-hop group Stadium Status, blues group Blues All-Stars, and singer-songwriter Alexia Garcia. Come join us on this fun-filled day to get involved in ending homelessness!

Attend and support an evening of jazz in Tribeca with New York's finest, benefiting A Safe Haven and honoring 2011 Champion for Recovery, Joan Kennedy. The evening will consist of live jazz music and heavy hors d'oeuvres, at the new Silver Lining club. Help us continue our mission of empowering lives and strengthening communities.

Oct. 22 - A Safe Haven Annual Banquet: Tribute to Skip LandAttend A Safe Haven's 9th Annual Banquet to honor Skip Land and his many years of hard work and dedication at A Safe Haven. The event will take place in Biagio's Banquets at 4242 N. Central Avenue
Chicago, IL 60634, from 6pm to midnight, and will include dinner, entertainment, and a few words from Skip and A Safe Haven staff. Tickets are $50 or $500 for a table of ten. To purchase tickets, contact Rose Elenz at RoseE@ASafeHaven.org or 847.708.5642. Oct. 31 - Autumn Innovation Banquet
Collaborating with the 2011 Social Enterprise Alliance summit, held this year in Chicago, A Safe Haven Foundation will host a banquet for 500 social business enterprise leaders from across the United States to gather, promote, and celebrate the achievements of social business enterprise initiatives by leaders across the nation. The lineup for this special evening includes a pre-dinner networking social hour with refreshments, an elegant dinner, entertainment, a brief awards ceremony, and addresses from prominent invited keynote speakers and emcees.
Nov. 11 - Veterans Day Tulips for Troops
Come plant tulips in honor of our veterans! Volunteers and veterans will work side-by-side, planting tulips at one of A Safe Haven's interim housing sites. Bring your gardening equipment, and tulip bulbs will be provided to those who don't have their own. Of course, don't forget your family and friends!
