Education and Pre-Employment Training
ASHF offers core classes that teach life skills and address: anger management, conflict resolution, change readiness, and interpersonal skills. Our clients also benefit from learning about the value of time management, positive communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and a strong work ethic. They learn to write resumes and cover letters, conduct job searches, and participate in mock interviews.
Educational services are tailored to meet residents' individual academic needs based upon their personal goals and an assessment of their particular skills. Some of our educational services include:
- on-site pre-GED and GED courses,
- introductory computer classes,
- tutoring, and
- referrals to literacy programs and colleges.
