Counseling and Case Management
Counseling and case management services stabilize the problems associated with homelessness, , alcoholism, and unemployment, and link residents to community resources. Our residents also participate in classes exploring effective interpersonal skills, which emphasize successful problem-solving in the workplace setting. In addition, intensive substance abuse counseling is available to those who require it.
Our case managers remain with residents throughout their stay. This relationship is integral to the triumphs our clients are proud to reach.
ASHF fosters independence by encouraging residents to mobilize their own skills and resources to meet needs and achieve goals. Our practices are culturally competent, demonstrating respect for the beliefs and background of our residents. We use a multidisciplinary team approach to address a variety of needs.
To ensure a drug-free environment, random drug testing is performed. Case management staff also work in partnership with therapists on-site to effectively address resident issues. In addition, we provide on-site recovery support services through twelve step meeting and spiritual counseling. ASHF employs highly-qualified staff including graduate level interns to provide excellent supportive services. Our on-site clinical supervisor has over 10 years experience working with our population. When necessary, we refer clients and their families to our network of more than 140 agencies with whom we link for services such as child care and family counseling.
