Position Title:             PC/Web technician

Reports To:                 IT Director

FLSA Status:                Non-Exempt

Purpose: Provide technical support to all employees.  Maintain webpages. Handle IT installations, updates, problems, and changes for all organization entities.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure and troubleshoot computers, software, printers, phones and other equipment
  • Edit and update web pages and web forms
  • Administer Office 365 and secure access ID card accounts
  • Track, update, resolve and collaborate on Zendesk help desk work orders
  • Set up and support audio-video presentations, Skype and other web conferences, and record when needed
  • Update and track IT equipment inventory, perform backups, and monitor systems performance
  • Interact with vendor service repair technicians
  • Perform other IT duties as assigned by management

 

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Knowledge of computer software including current Windows operating systems, MS Office, email, internet browsers, antivirus, and other business applications
  • Knowledge of WordPress web content management system, basic web programming in HTML and CSS, and simple photo editing
  • Good software and hardware troubleshooting skills
  • Experience with Office 365
  • Understanding of networking protocols
  • Knowledge of current Android and iOS smartphones
  • Plus: Windows PowerShell and batch files; experience administering Avaya or Allworx telephones
  • Ability to effectively communicate with different personalities
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities
  • Ability to see clearly at 20 inches or less
  • Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time
  • Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

 

Qualifications:

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree (A.A.) in Computer Systems or similar, with two or five years of related experience, or similar combination of education and experience
  • Experience working in a dynamic, multitasking environment, supporting a variety of PCs, laptops, user accounts, websites, telephones and smartphones.

Certificates/Licenses Required

  • None required with appropriate experience, but an MCSE, Networking Essentials, or A+ certification is a plus.

 

Language Ability

  • Ability for effective communication with all users either in person, via telephone, or email
  • Ability to write IT email notices or instructions for all staff
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions, manuals, and policies, and propose updates when necessary
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to present or speak to various groups of IT users

Reasoning Ability

  • Ability to execute and improve instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
  • Ability to research IT solutions with multiple vendors in person, email, via phone or internet

Computer Skills

In order to perform the essential duties of the job, one must possess the following computer and program skills:

  • Preferred typing speed above 30 words per minute
  • Basics of MS Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other common corporate software applications
