Neli Vazquez Rowland, President and Co-Founder of A Safe Haven Foundation is Featured Guest Panelist for Private Discussion and Showing of “Another Word for Beauty” Stage Play

Chicago Council on Global Affairs will host Neli Vazquez Rowland in a panel discussion as part of their Women and Development Forum Series, “Another Word for Beauty” on Wednesday, January 27, 2016, beginning at 5:30 p.m.  The panel discussion begins at 6:00 p.m. in the Goodman Theater in the Healy Rehearsal Room, followed by the viewing of “Another Word for Beauty” in the Albert Theater.

Prior to starting ASHF, Neli Vazquez Rowland worked as an investment professional at top investment firms in Chicago for 13 years.  During her tenure in the private sector, she co-founded ASHF and has touched and transformed the lives of almost 100,000 individuals.  ASHF is lauded as an innovative and scalable model for successfully addressing the root causes of poverty and helping  people in crisis move into employment and permanent housing by leveraging public-private investment. She is a frequent speaker, most recently she spoke at Harvard University at the Global {WED} Entrepreneurial forum held in partnership with the UN and at Colombia University in Bogota, Colombia. Her recent awards include The Illinois Secretary of State’s Humanitarian Award, The White House Champion of Change Award, and the American Red Cross Community Impact Award. She is an alum of Loyola University’s School of Business and the Minority Executive Management program at Dartmouth’s Tuck School of Business.
