Mighty Fox, Michael Record, Ill State, Laura Bretan, and XO
Mighty Fox isn’t just a musical project but rather a journey. As an up-and-coming group based in Chicago that has already gotten industry professionals stirring, it’s clear that this project is more than just a “band” but rather a way of life for the musicians involved. Each song has the listener noticing the many different artists that influence Mighty Fox and how they’ve affected the lives of the members. With bands like Coldplay, Imagine Dragons, U2, and Mumford & Sons being considered substantial influences, Mighty Fox has a very well rounded sound that anyone and everyone can relate to and enjoy. Don’t let the names fool you though. Mighty Fox has definitely found a sound of their own which translates incredibly to their live show. Michael Record was born on the South Side of Chicago and comes from the family of the late Eugene B. Record, Sr. former lead singer, songwriter and producer of Chicago’s own “Chi-Lites”. Michael hopes to bring the same positive message that his grandfather did with his music. Michael has taken his grandfather’s music and sampled it just like the other artists out there and redefined the sound with a clean and meaningful rap. A former student of the Art Institute of Chicago and Full Sail University, he has made his mark with his own work. Michael is working on his first album produced by Brian A. Record. He has also collaborated with his family and wrote some outstanding music that will wake up some of the “sleeping” music on the scene. His song, We Need Order, is a song his grandfather wrote that talks about the changes that need to be made to save our planet.
Ill State is a collaboration of three men with talent, common musical ideals, and a dream to be heard. Tommy, Oliver and Haze found each other at various points in their lives but were destined to make music as a collective all along. From Mexico to Chicago, to Kankakee and back Ill State is the product of hard work and determination overcoming obstacles and odds. One day the trio started making music together and Ill State, the three man hit squad, was born.
Laura Bretan is a 12-year old singing sensation and sixth grade honor student at Lincoln Junior High School in Skokie, Illinois. She began singing at age 4.
